Fort Worth Eye Associates provides nonsurgical facial cosmetic procedures that reduce fine lines and wrinkles in the face and restore a more refreshed and youthful appearance. These injectables and dermal fillers can also add volume to the cheeks and lips to provide facial rejuvenation. In most cases, our aesthetic enhancement procedures can be completed in less than 30 minutes with little to no downtime for the patient.
How Facial Skin Ages
The skin contains natural elements, such as hyaluronic acid (HA) and collagen, that help maintains its elasticity and firmness. As we get older, the natural aging process combined with environmental factors, like pollution and sun exposure, can cause visible signs, such as facial lines and wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid and collagen in our skin dissipate over time and skin volume and firmness diminish.
Fort Worth Eye Associates offer nonsurgical cosmetic solutions to treat facial aging, replenish collagen supplies, and restore hydration and nutrients to the skin.
Nonsurgical Facial Cosmetic Procedures Offered at Fort Worth Eye Associates
Nonsurgical facial cosmetic procedures offered at Fort Worth Eye Associates are performed by professional experienced ophthalmologists trained in oculoplastic surgery. Botox® Cosmetics and several types of injectable dermal fillers are available to meet the individual needs of our patients.
Your doctor will review all of the options with you to provide the best solution for your aesthetic enhancement. With many advancements being made in recent years, non-surgical cosmetic procedures can produce better and longer-lasting results.
Botox® Cosmetic
Botox® Cosmetic is one of the most utilized nonsurgical facial cosmetic procedures which is designed to temporarily diminish and smooth facial lines and wrinkles and add volume to cheeks and lips. Botox® Cosmetic relaxes or weakens, the facial muscles preventing them from contracting and creating creases. Derived from a refined form of botulism toxin, Botox® Cosmetic has shown to be quite successful in producing smooth skin and reducing wrinkles, especially around the eyes and forehead.
After applying a numbing cream, the solution is injected with a fine needle into the target area. Mild discomfort is usually experienced, and most patients resume normal activity immediately. Any redness or swelling around the injection sites should resolve within the first day.
Results from Botox® typically improve throughout the first week and last approximately 4 months. Maintaining a youthful appearance can be achieved with periodic follow-up treatments.
Latisse®
Latisse is an FDA-approved nonsurgical facial cosmetic procedure to grow eyelashes for people with inadequate or not enough lashes. It is not administered as eye drops. Only apply Latisse to the base of the upper eyelashes. Latisse should not be applied to the lower eyelids, it can cause darkening of the skin and hair growth outside of the treatment area. It is not uncommon to have side effects such as itchy and red eyes.
Kybella® (Deoxycholic Acid)
Kybella is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”
Kybella is a cytolytic (destroys the cell membrane) drug, that when properly injected into the submental fat, the drug destroys fat cells. This prescription drug should only be injected by a specialist, inadvertent injection into the skin and other tissue can result in tissue destruction.
Injectable Dermal Fillers
Injectable dermal fillers are a safe and effective non-surgical facial cosmetic procedure to reduce facial wrinkles and creases, restore volume and contour in cheeks and lips, and rejuvenate appearance.
Dermal fillers can be used to diminish or eliminate:
